The Faces of Violence. From Totalitarian Variations to the Crisis of Liberal Democracy

The books is devoted to the problem of violence in its individual variation – gentle and drastic – but above all, institutional or collective violence which occurs in state political systems. It provides an overview of the different standpoints on this issue: from the apology of violence in the terror systems of totalitarian Nazism and communism, through proposals to limit it within liberal democracy, to the present crisis of the latter order and the populism that threatens it.
