Książka „Pierwsza pomoc” powstała z myślą o studentach wydziałów medycznych. Dr Rakesh Jalali wraz ze Współpracownikami i pełnymi energii studentami przygotował prosty, czytelny przewodnik opisujący podstawowe czynności ratunkowe.

Pomysł podręcznika wywodzi się z akcji edukacyjnej „Uruchom Serce Bliźniemu”. Dr R. Jalali we współpracy z Wojewodą Warmińsko-Mazurskim rozpoczął intensywne i skuteczne szkolenie nauczycieli szkół województwa Warmińsko-Mazurskiego. Plan był prosty: my uczymy nauczycieli RKO – nauczyciele uczą swoich uczniów – dzieci wyrastają na świadomych dorosłych i szerzą wiedzę dalej. Od 2014 roku w projekcie wzięło udział ponad 230 szkół.

Publikacja została przygotowana tak, aby stanowiła jedyny wymagany podręcznik dla obowiązkowego kursu z pierwszej pomocy. Jest to publikacja dwujęzyczna, dzięki czemu studenci anglojęzyczni mogą korzystać z tej samej literatury, co ich polscy koledzy. Mimo że opracowanie jest wstępem do tematyki pomocy doraźnej, to każdy student kierunku medycznego powinien opanować perfekcyjnie wymagane podstawy.

The idea of this textbook came from the beginning of educational campaign "Restart the Heart for the near ones” to save lives, initiated by the main author of the book, Dr. Rakesh Jalali. To achieve this, Dr. Jalali, in cooperation with the Warmian-Masurian Voivode, has started CPR training for teachers of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship’s schools. The main idea of this action was: we teach CPR to the teachers – teachers teach their students – students grow up to be aware adults and spread knowledge further. Since 2014 more than 230 schools have participated in the project.

Drawing on my own experience of organising first aid courses for medical students, this publication has been designed as the only required textbook for such a course, without students having to search for pieces of information elsewhere. At the same time, it is a bilingual publication so that a course for English-speaking students could be taught using the same textbook and therefore without a risk of introducing differences due to dissimilar literature. I would like to stress that this publication serves only as an introduction to the subject of emergency care, but it is an introduction that each medical student should master to perfection because of the profession they will be practising in the future and social expectations associated with this job.

Książka z pewnością zainteresuje nie tylko wspaniałych studentów wydziałów medycznych, lecz także wszystkich zainteresowanych pierwszą pomocą przedstawioną krok po kroku.
